Meet iluma’s Team: Jade Gray
If you have ever had the pleasure of working with Jade Gray, Account Executive for LocalLight Digital Marketing at Illuminati Studios, you are fortunate to know her as bubbly, patient, kind, organized, and capable of ensuring a consistently high standard of quality. She is an amazing employee who we’re incredibly proud to have on our team, but what you might not know is that she’s pretty awesome outside of work, too! Jade was born in Bohol in the Philippines, where she lived for twelve years. Raised near the ocean, she loves going to the beach with her family, and she also has fond memories of climbing trees in the jungle and the rustic atmosphere of dirt roads lined with woods. Jade attended school at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. She graduated in just three years with a Bachelor of Science degree in business management and a Bachelor of Arts degree in marketing.
On March 22, 2014, Jade married her husband, Michael, whom she met at an internship for a small marketing company. Their son, Bryce, is now almost two years old. Recently Jade has been keeping busy perusing Pinterest and crafting Donald Duck themed goodies for Bryce’s upcoming birthday party. A true multi-tasker, Jade can watch TV, feed the baby, and do laundry at the same time.
With a two-year-old in the house, she knows that relaxation is a precious commodity; two of her favorite things to do are watch DVR’d shows with her husband (especially Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, Chicago PD, Black List, Blind Spot, and Game of Thrones) and sleep. Before starting a family, Jade traveled frequently, including three months she spent volunteering for the Israeli Army in the summer of 2010 (during the Gaza conflict), following in the footsteps of her father and grandparents.
“I’m not a badass,” she explained. “I don’t know how to fight.” As part of a logistics team made up of students from the United States, Canada, and Europe, she helped soldiers learn English and prepared bags for them that included food rations and survival tools. She did go through combat training, however, which involved shooting an M16 at a decoy target. Although she shot in its general direction, she never made the target. “I was too scared,” she laughed. While in Israel, she enjoyed learning some Hebrew, experiencing a unique lifestyle, and traveling to renowned destinations like the Dead Sea.
Some other fun facts about Jade Gray? Although she loves to wear and be surrounded by lots of colors, she doesn’t have a favorite color—because that would make the others jealous! Her favorite food is any kind of Asian cuisine as long as it’s not spicy, but she can’t cook; the smoke detector goes off as soon as she gets anywhere near the oven. (She’s a pretty big fan of takeout.) Last but not least, she loves singing along to the radio, despite her husband’s insistence that she sounds like a dying animal.
